The Evolutionary Impact of the America's Cup
The Evolutionary Impact of the America’s Cup is an examination of the design, engineering, competition, and camaraderie involved in the sport of sailing. The America’s Cup is a beautifully historic tale that connects our planet on a very human level. On the other hand, it contains a history of controversy due to systemic inequity and xenophobic representations. The sport of sailing is a rather niche hobby that is statistically dominated by affluent white men. Fortunately, more emphasis has been put into diversity, equity, and inclusion for the sailing world. The aim for this venture on the America’s Cup is to foster a more comprehensive and accessible attitude towards education in the sport of sailing.

Title Page
I decided to use a very traditional color palette that speaks to the ever-present American nationalism that we see in the Cup. The blue and red are very symbolic of the sport itself posited as "nautical" but are rather emblematic of American globalization of the sport of sailing. For my logo, it was a very obvious choice for me to use the Cup itself. I decided to flatten the Cup as this was traditionally the more practical use of maritime communications and mapping, emphasizing legibility.

Rating UI
The only three-dimensional aspect to this project is the Cup displayed throughout the ratings. I felt it was important for the viewer to grasp the intricacies of detail and fine silver used to create this beautiful artifact. To understand the physicalities of the Cup itself is to understand the foundations of wealth and history that go into America's Cup behind the scenes.

Vessel UI
I created vessel digitally based off of original boat design plans. Each vessel seen throughout this project was carefully selected for it's original design as well as the rich, unique history behind it. I pulled roughly one boats per class for a sufficient breadth of vessels ranging from the first race to the kinds of boats we see today.
