My interest in crafting objects intersects with a curiosity of creating
situations. My work is a culmination of personal experience,
research, and material testing. The physical nature of working three-dimensionally is stimulated by my own questions of how materials
can work and how they impact the sensory experience of the work.
Materials such as clay, metal, wood, wax, textiles and other organic
materials allow me to interact with textures and form. Installation is
used to create union between viewer, object and space.
Starting in Fall 2011 I will be roaming beautiful Virginia and working
to earn a MFA in Craft/Material Studies with a focus on Ceramics at
Virginia Commonwealth University. |
